The vision
A world that continues beyond a single save file.
The aim is a world where logging out does not end the world around you. Players share routes and towns, maintain persistent game accounts and eventually interact through trading, social systems, competitive play and a server-authoritative economy.
The project deliberately keeps the feel of a classic 2D Pokémon adventure while replacing the single-player assumptions underneath it with MMO infrastructure.
Development now
Real online foundations, still growing.
PLO already has real account authentication, one-use game tickets, Unity networking, a Linux dedicated server, online-player presence foundations, persistent authoritative world location, a synchronized world clock and an expanding early-Kanto playable slice.
Pokémon ownership, inventory, encounters, battle results and progression are still being migrated from legacy local authority into secure server-owned systems.
How we build
Development principles
Server authority firstValuable MMO state should ultimately be trusted because the server owns it, not because the client says it happened.
One implementationSystems are consolidated instead of stacking new managers and compatibility patches over obsolete ones.
Runtime acceptanceA successful compile is not treated as proof that a feature works in the real standalone game.
