Use of PLO is a licence to access a fan-operated online service.
These terms apply to the PLO website, game client, accounts, online services and associated official community services.
1. The service
Pokémon Legacy Online ("PLO") is an independently operated, unofficial fan project. PLO provides account, website, launcher, game-server and related online functionality. PLO is not an official Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak or Creatures Inc. service.
2. Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, for activity performed through your account, and for promptly reporting suspected compromise. PLO staff will not need your password in order to provide support.
3. Limited service licence
Subject to these policies, PLO grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to install the PLO client and use PLO services for ordinary personal gameplay. This permission does not transfer ownership of PLO-operated account records, server-side data, original PLO software, or any third-party intellectual property.
You may not mirror, sell, sublicense, commercially redistribute, decompile, reverse engineer, tamper with or circumvent PLO software or security controls except where applicable law expressly permits an activity that cannot lawfully be restricted.
4. Third-party intellectual property
Nothing in these Terms grants you rights in Pokémon or other third-party intellectual property. PLO's use of names, compatibility references or fan-project material does not constitute a claim of ownership, licence, sponsorship or endorsement. See the Legal & IP Notice.
5. Required game data
PLO does not provide, host, sell, mirror or link users to Pokémon ROM images, cartridge dumps or other unauthorised source-game files. If compatible source-game data is required, you must supply it locally yourself and comply with the Game Data & ROM Policy.
6. Accounts and virtual content are service entitlements
Access to a PLO account, characters, server-side currency, items, Pokémon records, memberships, cosmetic entitlements and other virtual features is part of the online service. Unless applicable law provides otherwise, those records are not cash, bank deposits, securities or transferable real-world property and have no guaranteed cash redemption value.
PLO does not claim ownership of third-party Pokémon intellectual property contained or referenced within the service. This clause concerns the account and service entitlement, not ownership of third-party rights.
7. Prohibited conduct
You must comply with the Code of Conduct. Prohibited conduct includes cheating, botting, unauthorised client manipulation, exploiting security weaknesses, harassment, fraud, real-money trading where not expressly authorised, distribution or solicitation of pirated material, and use of PLO services for unlawful activity.
8. Suspension and termination
PLO may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to enforce these policies, protect users or the service, investigate fraud/security incidents, comply with law, or protect the integrity of the game economy. Where practical and appropriate, users may be given a reason and access to an appeal/support route. Nothing in this clause limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Service changes and availability
PLO is an actively developed online project. Features, regions, balancing, virtual content, server availability and supported platforms may change. Maintenance, outages, data correction and emergency security action may occur. PLO does not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
10. Premium content and payments
If optional memberships, virtual currency or other paid digital entitlements are introduced, the price and material terms will be shown before purchase. Payment does not transfer ownership of Pokémon or other third-party intellectual property. Paid virtual entitlements remain subject to the service rules and the Premium Content & Refund Policy, together with all mandatory consumer rights.
11. External services and links
PLO may link to third-party services such as payment processors, community platforms or external information resources. A link does not imply endorsement of the third party. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies and are outside PLO's direct control.
12. Disclaimer and limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PLO is provided on an "as available" basis without a guarantee that every feature will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. PLO is not responsible for losses caused solely by third-party services, user-supplied game files, unsupported modifications or events outside PLO's reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Security, abuse and evidence
PLO may retain and review service logs, account events, moderation records and security information reasonably necessary to protect accounts, investigate abuse, enforce rules and comply with lawful requests. Any future anti-cheat or device-monitoring capability must be disclosed in the Privacy Policy before it is relied upon.
14. Changes to these terms
PLO may update these policies as the service evolves. Material changes will be published and, where required by law or by the nature of the change, users will be asked to accept the updated version before continuing to use affected services.
