Unofficial fan project. No affiliation or third-party ownership is claimed.
This notice explains PLO's status, third-party rights, compatibility references, source-game data rules and rights-holder contact route.
1. Unofficial fan project
Pokémon Legacy Online ("PLO") is an independently developed and operated unofficial fan project. It is not produced, licensed, authorised, sponsored, endorsed by, affiliated with, or approved by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., or their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates or licensors.
2. Third-party intellectual property remains with its owners
Pokémon-related names, characters, artwork, trademarks, service marks, trade dress, source-game data and other third-party intellectual property remain the property of their respective rights holders. PLO does not claim ownership of those third-party rights.
Any copyright or other rights PLO may hold in original PLO code, infrastructure, UI, documentation or independently created material are separate from, and do not create ownership of, Pokémon or other third-party intellectual property.
3. Descriptive and compatibility references
References to Pokémon titles, platforms, characters, regions, file identities or other third-party products are made only to identify, describe or explain compatibility and gameplay context. Such references do not imply licence, sponsorship, endorsement, partnership or official status.
4. No ROM distribution or acquisition service
PLO does not sell, provide, host, mirror, transmit or knowingly link users to downloadable Pokémon ROM images, cartridge dumps, BIOS files, encryption keys, circumvention material or other unauthorised source-game files. The detailed rules are set out in the Game Data & ROM Policy.
5. User-supplied game data
Where PLO requires compatible source-game data, it must be supplied locally by the individual user from a copy the user is legally entitled to possess and use. PLO does not acquire that game data on the user's behalf and the intended validation process does not upload the user's source ROM to PLO services.
Possession of an original cartridge or legitimate copy does not necessarily make every method of obtaining, copying, extracting, bypassing protection or using game data lawful in every jurisdiction. Each user remains responsible for applicable copyright, anti-circumvention and other law.
6. Anti-piracy position
PLO expressly prohibits use of its controlled services to distribute, request, advertise, sell or facilitate pirated ROMs or other unauthorised copyrighted source-game material. PLO may remove such content and take account action under the Code of Conduct.
7. No representation of official status
Users, staff, community members and third parties must not describe PLO as an official Pokémon product or represent that Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak or Creatures Inc. has approved or endorsed PLO unless PLO has received explicit written authority that can be verified.
8. Rights-holder notices
A rights holder or authorised representative who believes material made available through PLO infringes their rights may contact legal@pokemonlegacyonline.com. Good-faith notices should identify the right claimed, the material at issue, where it appears, and a reasonable means of verifying authority to act. PLO will review credible notices and take appropriate action where required.
9. No legal guarantee
PLO's fan-project status, no-ROM policy, community rules, attribution, takedown contact and other safeguards are risk-reduction measures; they are not a guarantee that a rights holder will approve of PLO or decline enforcement.
